Right from the very beginning this little blog was meant to be a collaboration between friends, or “sisters in the best sense of the word.” It really has been that, and I can safely say that Sunshine and I have had a huge amount of fun with it. As time has gone by we are both finding new ways to think about communicating our thoughts by way of the internet. So I am very happy to provide a link to Sunshine’s shiny, brand new blog: A Thousand Books and Still Going Ta Da! I suspect she has read a lot more than a thousand books too. Our first year of knowing one another involved a lot of trips to the library, and we would both load up on an armful of books for the upcoming month. Multiply that by the number of years Sunshine has been reading, that’s a lot of books. Sunshine is a very engaging writer and even if you haven’t read the novels she reviews it makes for a great look see.
I kind of like this discipline of putting words down on a regular basis, and this project feels like it is still unfolding. Sunshine tells me she is not giving up on writing here either, as she is a very “crafty” person, and it will be great to see what she creates.
Warp and Woof is still going to be a place to stick knitting and other projects, and it remains a place to say hi to friends and family who pop in. I am in process, however, with a few knitting and weaving things and don’t really have a lot to show for it yet so no “fibre” pics today.
This is from a recent walk in the park near our house. It cracks me up every time. The city workers, at least some of them, have a sense of humour.
On impulse I brought home a weird little gadget to steam milk. After my walk today I had a “fancy” (fake) coffee and the steamer thing worked so well I had to record it for posterity. Small things hey. It’s been a good weekend.
